Terms of Service

1. Who can use Joviel

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. Joviel is a community for orthodox Protestant Christians; by joining, you confirm the information you provide is truthful and that you are joining in good faith.

2. The waitlist

Joining the waitlist lets us contact you about Joviel — it does not create an account or guarantee access. We open the Service gradually and by verification, and we may decline or remove a registration at our discretion. You can ask us to remove your email at any time at hello@joviel.one.

3. Your account & verification

When the app launches, you are responsible for the accuracy of your profile and for keeping your login secure. To protect the community, we may require identity and liveness verification and a faith interview before granting access, and we may re-verify members over time. To keep everyone safe, new accounts start with limited reach that grows with time and good standing, and we may apply additional, risk-based review to some sign-ups — this is about building trust over time, not turning anyone away for where they live. A verification mark means a member passed our checks; it is a signal of trust, not a guarantee (see Dating Safety).

4. Community rules

You agree not to:

• Impersonate anyone, create fake or duplicate profiles, or misrepresent yourself.
• Harass, threaten, defraud, or harm other members.
• Solicit money, promote investment or other schemes, spam, or pressure other members to move off Joviel (to another app, to send money, or to invest), or use the Service commercially without permission.
• Post unlawful, hateful, sexually exploitative, or infringing content.
• Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Joviel is an adults-only service. Any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers a minor — including grooming, sextortion, or child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — results in immediate removal and reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or relevant authorities, as required by law. • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service or its security.
• Attempt to manipulate, probe, or inject instructions into Joviel’s automated or AI systems (for example, the faith interview, profile tools, or safety checks).
• Use the Service if you are a minor or are barred under applicable law.

You can report or block any member from their profile or a chat. A person reviews reports, and we may warn, limit reach, suspend, or remove accounts that break these rules or put members at risk — we don’t publicly shame anyone, and you can appeal a decision by contacting us.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you submit. You grant Joviel a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host and display your content as needed to operate the Service. You are responsible for the content you share.

6. Fees, credits & subscriptions

The waitlist is free, and you can view profiles and chat with your matches without paying. Sending a greeting uses a credit. You may buy credits, and we may offer an optional subscription. Prices are shown before you buy and vary by country.

• Payment is handled by the app stores. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google under their terms. Prices may include tax where required.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in your Apple or Google account settings; cancellation stops the next renewal and takes effect at the end of the current period.
• Refunds. Because Apple and Google are the sellers, refund requests are made to and decided by them under their policies. Credits are consumed when you use them, and used credits are non-refundable except where the law or an app-store policy requires otherwise.
• We may add, change, or retire credit packs, subscription options, and prices over time; changes are not retroactive to purchases you have already made.

We do not use manipulative or high-pressure sales tactics, and we do not sell advantages that let anyone buy their way past our safety or matching rules.

7. Intellectual property

The Joviel name, brand, software, and design are owned by Joviel and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to use them except to use the Service as intended.

8. Safety & disclaimers

Joviel works hard to keep the community real and safe through its verification and moderation steps (see Dating Safety for what we do and don't do), but we do not conduct criminal background checks and cannot guarantee the identity, conduct, or intentions of any member. Please read our Dating Safety notice. You are responsible for your own interactions — use good judgment, never send money, and meet in public when meeting someone for the first time. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, and we do not promise any particular match or outcome.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Joviel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts of other members. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or USD 100 if you paid nothing).

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time — directly from in-app Settings, where you can also download a copy of your data and manage your consents (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the community.

11. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service grows. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
